The end of Kepler Space Telescope
Every space science lover knows about the legend in the space which is Kepler Space Telescope, the telescope is working tirelessly since from its launch on March 7,2009 but it seems that after so many discoveries of stars, exoplanets in milky way galaxy it is going to end.
- It is expected that Kepler Space telescope is going to run out of fuel in a few months.
- Due to low fuel NASA had put Kepler Space telescope into hibernation.
- The hibernation in other sense is known as no-fuel-use safe mode.
- This is done to download the latest scientific data captured by Kepler Space telescope.
- The earth orbiting Observatory will points its antenna towards the planet for data transfer and will begin operations in august, said NASA
- Until then it will remain in a safe orbit parked in a no-fuel-use state.
- After down link the scientific data successfully(on August 2) NASA will carry Kepler Space telescope's 19th and the last observatory mission with its remaining fuel.
- NASA's Ames Research center in California's silicon valley manages all operations regarding to Kepler mission and follow-up K 2 mission.
- Kepler mission development is managed by NASA's Jet propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena,California.
- Operations of flight system of Kepler Space telescope is done by ball Aerospace & Technologies Corporation with support from Atmospheric and space Physics Laboratory .
It is much required to work on another space telescope like Kepler Space Telescope to continue the search of different exoplanets with more capabilities and continue the discovery.
- On August 9,2018 it was reported that Kepler space telescope and ESA Gaia telescope helped in discovering 44 more exoplanets outside our solar system.
- 4 of them are orbiting around there star in roughly 24 hours which means that a year on those planet is equal to a day on earth.
